Code Red Opportunity: The Why and How of Climate and Coaching

with Josie McLean and Begum Verjee

Join this panel in an interactive discussion on what Sir John Whitmore once shared about the purpose for coaching at this time in human history. To help shift human consciousness to address the seemingly daunting challenge that is the climate and ecological crisis that even the International Panel on Climate Change now describes as a code red situation.

In this crisis is the opportunity of a lifetime to be a part of what Joanna Macey calls the Great Turning – a transformation that will engage our sense of meaning and purpose. But what does it take? We will briefly overview the current situation from a scientific perspective to answer ‘why now?’ and then explore ‘how now’ as we identify the role coaching might play, how coaching is already evolving and how you might begin to engage your clients with these important questions.

Speakers/Panelists:

  • Josie McLean, Co-Founder of Climate Coaching Alliance https://www.climatecoachingalliance.org/
  • Begum Verjee, Ed.D., M.Ed., ACC - Life & Leadership Mental Fitness Coach, ICF Foundation, Council of Ambassador, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Consultant
