Here at ICF Toronto we are committed to building a more equitable chapter and coaching profession to create a more just society.
Board Member Commitment:
- Two-year term, with the possibility of renewal
- Board of Directors are voted in by the membership at the Annual Member Meeting for a two year term
- Willingness to contribute an average of 20+ hours per month to a working Board
- Willingness to lead a volunteer committee and/or ad hoc advisory group
- Support awareness of ICF Global Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Plan initiatives
- Complete ICF Volunteer Leader Training within 3 months of appointment as Board member
- Sign Chapter Leader Agreement
- Attend ICF Global Leadership Forum
- Attend monthly board meetings and chapter events
Each Board of Director role works across the organization in order to ensure the board is highly effective in carrying out its essential duties and governance responsibilities and is able to attract and develop the highest caliber candidates to serve as trustees.

At ICF Toronto, our Board of Directors is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession, fostering a thriving member community, and building meaningful partnerships. Each Director plays a vital role in ensuring our chapter’s continued growth, sustainability, and positive impact.

Through shared leadership, strategic alignment, and a commitment to service, the Board ensures that every initiative contributes to these trajectories, fostering long-term success for our members, the coaching community, and the broader society. Additionally, each Director is committed to embedding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles into their portfolio, ensuring these values are integrated into all aspects of ICF Toronto’s work and strategic initiatives.
President
The President is responsible for fostering a thriving, sustainable, diverse, equitable and inclusive Chapter. To lead and guide the transformational and innovation journey of ICF Toronto Chapter to ensure attainment of medium and long term strategic objectives and sustainable change in collaboration with other Chapter Leaders, and ICF Global. Responsible for the oversight of ICF Toronto to ensure the activities of the board and members are in alignment with the vision and mission of the organization. The President serves several key stakeholders: Chapter members, BOD, partners and ICF PC-Global
Director of Governance, Risk & Sustainability (Secretary)
The Director of Governance, Risk & Sustainability (Secretary) ensures ICF Toronto’s chapter operates with transparency, integrity, and long-term sustainability. This role leads the chapter’s governance practices, overseeing board operations, risk management, and compliance with ICF global standards. By fostering strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and responsible resource management, the Director supports the chapter’s strategic growth. Work closely with the President, Treasurer, and Director of Member Experience & Connection to ensure smooth operations, effective communication, and a strong foundation for member engagement and organizational impact. Lead the technology function for the association, ensuring that the technology platform continues to match the needs of the membership and the delivery of enhanced value.
Director of Finance, Audit & Fiscal Planning (Treasurer)
The Director of Finance, Audit & Fiscal Planning (Treasurer) safeguards ICF Toronto’s financial health and operational sustainability. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial compliance, ensuring transparency, integrity, and alignment with legal and ICF global standards. The Treasurer develops revenue-generating strategies—including sponsorships and funding initiatives—while managing financial risk and resource allocation to support the chapter’s long-term goals. Additionally, the Treasurer leads the chapter’s technology function, ensuring platforms meet membership needs and enhance value delivery. Collaborating with the President, Director of Governance & Sustainability, and Director of Member Experience & Connection, the Treasurer ensures financial accountability, technology alignment, and the smooth execution of key activities, including the Annual General Meeting.
Vice-President
The Vice President fully supports the President in all aspects of leading a thriving, sustainable, diverse, equitable and inclusive Chapter. To lead and guide the transformational and innovation journey of ICF Toronto Chapter to ensure attainment of medium and long term strategic objectives and sustainable change in collaboration with other Chapter Leaders, and ICF Global. The Vice President assumes these responsibilities in addition to their respective portfolio duties.
Director of Brand Strategy & Communications
Define and manage the ICF Toronto brand, ensuring it aligns with global standards while resonating with local communities, fostering inclusivity and engagement. Raise awareness of ICF Toronto’s value by strategically positioning the chapter as a thought leader in the coaching community, leveraging various channels and partnerships to amplify its reach. Create and implement targeted communication strategies that enhance member engagement, retention, and ensure members feel valued and informed. Oversee the creation and consistency of the chapter’s brand identity across all communications, from digital content to events, ensuring inclusivity in tone and outreach. Develop and execute marketing campaigns that promote ICF Toronto programs, membership benefits, and signature events such as ICW and the Awards Gala. Advocate for ICF credentialed coaches by creating compelling content that highlights the impact of coaching in business, leadership, and personal development, emphasizing diverse success stories. Collaborate with membership directors to develop communication strategies that enhance member engagement, promote opportunities for recognition, and encourage involvement in chapter activities. Strengthen relationships with media, local businesses, and community organizations to extend ICF Toronto’s reach and reputation, promoting accessibility and inclusivity across all interactions.
Director of Member Success & Belonging
Develop and execute strategies to attract new members, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive membership base. Enhance the onboarding experience to foster a strong sense of belonging from the start. Build strong partnerships with local coaching schools, support non-ICF coaches in their credentialing journey, and establish systems to continuously gather feedback for improving member attraction and retention. Implement initiatives that keep members engaged and connected, providing opportunities for leadership and meaningful involvement. Contribute to the long-term sustainability of the chapter, embedding inclusivity and belonging in all member-focused efforts.
Director of Member Experience & Connection
Foster a vibrant member experience by leading networking, recognition, and community-building initiatives. Strengthen member-to-member connections, creating pathways for professional growth and meaningful engagement. Recognize member contributions, celebrate their impact, and provide regular opportunities for involvement. Establish feedback mechanisms to ensure strategies meet member needs and support the diverse perspectives within the community. Collaborate with governance and finance teams to ensure accessible membership options and contribute to the successful delivery of the Annual Member Meeting.
Director of Member Volunteering & Growth
Build a strong volunteer ecosystem that supports member growth and leadership development. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuous support for volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, engaged, and developed in their roles. Expand opportunities for volunteer leadership, implement recognition initiatives, and establish feedback loops to refine volunteer strategies. Collaborate with governance and finance directors to align volunteer programs with the chapter’s sustainability goals, while fostering a culture of inclusivity and appreciation.
Director of Accreditation & Professional Growth
Support members in obtaining and renewing ICF credentials, creating structured pathways for progress from non-ICF to ACC/PCC/MCC. Develop and implement programs to support ICF credentialing at all levels, ensuring that members are equipped with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Foster accountability partnerships to encourage timely renewals, and offer structured peer coaching and mentor coaching opportunities. Collaborate with ICF Global and local coaching communities to ensure the latest accreditation resources are accessible. Ensure non-ICF coaches understand the benefits and steps of credentialing, providing equitable support for all members in their accreditation journeys.
Director of Coaching Entrepreneurship & Impact
Equip members with essential business skills and strategies for thriving coaching practices. Facilitate business model development, partnerships, and sustainable growth, supporting coaches in transitioning into or out of full-time coaching. Design and deliver a series on various coaching business structures, providing ongoing programs focused on business development, marketing, and partnerships. Offer strategic support for career transitions, ensuring members are prepared for shifts in their professional journeys, whether from corporate to coaching or vice versa. Promote networking and collaborative opportunities to build successful, sustainable coaching businesses while ensuring members stay ahead of emerging business trends in the coaching industry.
Director of Coaching Capability & Advancement
Enhance coaching mastery through future-ready practices that encourage continuous learning and innovation. Curate and facilitate learning programs on emerging coaching methodologies and best practices, fostering a culture of growth and development. Build peer learning sandboxes for skill-building and real-world application, and establish local Communities of Practice to deepen engagement and shared learning. Keep members informed about emerging trends and sustainable coaching models, encouraging them to refine their craft and expand their impact. Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all professional development opportunities to support a diverse and evolving coaching community.
Director of Community Services & Social Impact
Strengthen ICF Toronto’s role in supporting local non-profits and community organizations through coaching initiatives that create meaningful social impact. Develop programs that make coaching accessible to underrepresented and underserved communities, fostering equity and empowerment. Lead partnerships and outreach efforts, integrating coaching as a tool for community development, leadership, and social change. Develop initiatives that provide coaching support to non-profits, grassroots organizations, and community service programs. Build relationships with organizations focused on social impact, positioning ICF coaching as a valuable resource for leadership and capacity-building. Leverage ICW to showcase coaching’s power in the non-profit and social sectors.
Director of Local & Diverse Community Partnerships
Expand ICF Toronto’s presence by fostering partnerships with diverse communities, including business, cultural, and community organizations. Promote professional coaching as a tool for growth, leadership, and development across industries and sectors. Strengthen ICF Toronto’s relationships with both for-profit and non-profit organizations to increase coaching accessibility and awareness. Build strategic partnerships with diverse businesses, professional associations, and community networks to promote coaching as a valuable resource. Ensure that ICF Toronto’s programs are inclusive and relevant to different cultural, professional, and industry groups, and lead outreach initiatives that introduce coaching to new communities and industries. Create opportunities for ICF credentialed coaches to engage with diverse communities, and use ICW as a platform to introduce coaching to local businesses, cultural groups, and industry networks, positioning ICF Toronto as a trusted resource.
Director of Corporate Outreach & Strategic Partnerships
Establish ICF Toronto as a trusted partner within local businesses and corporate networks by promoting the value of credentialed coaching for leadership and organizational growth. Secure long-term partnerships with key corporate players and professional associations to expand ICF Toronto’s influence. Advocate for the integration of coaching practices within business environments through customized coaching solutions and educational initiatives. Build relationships with businesses, corporations, and chambers of commerce to promote coaching as a tool for leadership and performance enhancement. Educate businesses on the benefits of working with ICF credentialed coaches and collaborate with them to implement coaching solutions aligned with their strategic goals. Grow ICF’s presence in the corporate space by engaging with professional associations and corporate networks, and leverage ICW to host coaching demos and learning events that showcase coaching’s impact in the workplace.
