Community Impact
What we do
A core strategic objective of ICF Toronto is to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice in our service of providing pro bono coaching services to people leading under-resourced service organizations within our greater community. For many coaching professionals, coaching is about serving at the individual, organizational, and system levels.
Why this is important
The coaches’ contribution of time and coaching skills promotes the coaching professions’ value and contribution. It also offers coaches growth opportunities as they serve individuals and teams in under-resourced not-for-profit organizations and registered charities who seek the benefits of coaching.
- Educate the general public about coaching to raise awareness and promote the value of coaching.
- Develop pro-bono coaching opportunities for the community to experience the proven personal and professional benefits of coaching.
- Provide coaching to communities that don't have access to, or may be unaware of support of this nature.
- Identify potential community service projects and establish relationships with the community service organizations.
- Coordinate and support chapter activities for the annual ICF Coach Week.
Programs We Support – Ignite, Special Projects & International Coaching Week
The projects we support align with ICF Globals’ Ignite and Special Projects initiatives.
What is Ignite?
In 2017, ICF Foundation launched the Ignite Initiative to leverage the collective global power of ICF to accelerate positive impact on humanity and the planet.
Every Ignite Project empowers meaningful social impact through six-month, pro-bono or reduced-rate coaching engagements with leaders, employees and beneficiaries of organizations that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. See https://sdgs.un.org/goals
Detailed information about Ignite and Ignite Projects is here: https://foundationoficf.org/ignite
Ignite projects in 2024 support these three UN Sustainable Development Goals:
What are Special Projects?
Special Projects are typically 6 month or 6 sessions of pro-bono or low-cost coaching for leaders in organizations that focus on any of the UN’s Global Goals. For details please see: https://foundationoficf.org/special-projects/
Note: For those of you familiar with CoachConnect, these initiatives are now Special Projects.
