Verjee, Dr. Begum

Begum Verjee is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and completed her coach training with the Faculty of Coaching at the Adler Graduate Professional School, Toronto, an accredited coach training program. As a coach, she is a co-active partner who inspires her clients to lead with clarity and purpose, and deliver results through self-reflection, feedback, and accountability. She has worked in the Justice, Equity, Decolonizing, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDDI) space for over 30 years as a consultant, trainer, and educator, and brings her extensive leadership experience in a range of industry settings to her client sessions. Prior to establishing herself as a coach, Begum held several leadership positions in the post-secondary sector, including VP & Director level positions. Begum has a doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy, and a master’s in Counselling Psychology, both from the University of British Columbia.

As a JEDDI coach, Begum has worked extensively with women, under-represented, minoritized, and equity deserving groups. Begum is based in Toronto, Canada, and is actively involved with local and global organizations in coach education, training, and as a mentor coach. Begum is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), member of the Graduate School Alliance for Education in Coaching (GSAEC), and member of the Association of Coach Training Organizations (ACTO).

Begum was the recipient for the ICF Toronto Chapter 2023 ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ for her thought leadership in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. She was also an ICF Foundation Council of Ambassador, Canadian representative, from 2020-2022 where she was involved with amplifying and accelerating global social impact coaching.
