Volunteer for Board Coach position

Interested in Making an Impact with ICF Toronto Board in a New Way?

ICF Toronto has grown and is one of the top five ICF chapters globally. With this growth, there is more complexity and more demands on our volunteer Board leaders. To support the sustainability of our Board, individually and collectively, ICF Toronto is excited to introduce a new volunteer role: “Board Coach.” A Board Coach can help to enhance leadership development and foster board engagement, which is essential to the health of any organization. Engaged boards are naturally more impactful since they are inspired to devote ample time to complete their responsibilities and fulfill expectations to realize the chapter’s goals.

A Board Coach role will support the following areas of development:

  • Leadership/Accountability
  • Engagement
  • Relationship building/Conflict resolution
  • Sustainability

We are looking for five members who are willing to volunteer as Board Coaches. This will offer enough support for the entire Board (12) to participate, share the coaching responsibility, and provide diversity and choice for those interested in coaching.

It is proposed that each Board Coach will provide 1:1 coaching for 1-2 Board members, individually. This will be determined by the coach’s availability and matching process. The Coach will help interested Board members strengthen skill development and support them in achieving their goals and resolving their leadership challenges.
